My name is Karen and I am 12 years old. I enjoy doing stage crew for musicals at my school and gymnastics. I also love cooking and baking, and reading books such as Hunger Games and Harry Potter. I like to watch Marvel movies with my older brothers.

I was diagnosed with scoliosis at age 9. Three years later, right before I was about to start 6th grade and middle school, I found out that my curves had increased to 24, 32, and 20 degrees and I needed a brace. I also had to start Schroth physical therapy. I decided to join Curvy Girls because the only people I knew with scoliosis were my parents. When I got my brace, no one even realized it was there. After a year, I out grew my brace, so I got a new one. When I was getting my new brace, I found out that I actually had four curves, which I didn’t know was possible. I am excited to get to know other Curvy Girls and help encourage them through their scoliosis journey.
